THE Francis Albertis returns to Panathinaikos. The flag of the “greens” will take over the post of European Ambassador.

The iconic captain of Panathinaikos played for 19 years in the green jersey (1990-2009) celebrating 25 titles, while after the end of his great sports career he continued to serve the team in various positions. In particular, he was a coach, General Manager, Team Manager, and also director of the Academies, further enriching his rich collection of titles with Panathinaikos.
“Everyone knows the bond I have with Panathinaikos and my love for this team. It goes without saying that I’m happy to be back, but anyway I felt like I was always there,” he initially stated to paobc.gr and continued referring to Dimitris Giannakopoulos and the meeting he had with him to return to the team: “He never needed more from a minute with him…”, he noted.
Francis Albertis will meet in the team people with whom he had worked for many years, a fact particularly important for him: “It is a big deal for me that I will meet again people I know well and have worked with for many years, such as Sani (s.s. Betsirovich), Dimitris (s.s. Kontos), Savvas (s.s. Aronis) and several other guys who are in the team, with the exception -unfortunately- of the great loss of our Paris”, he commented .
Finally, regarding the return of Panathinaikos AKTOR to the top of Europe and Greece last season and the coming one, he emphasized: “An amazing job was done by coach Ataman, his colleagues, the athletes and the administration. The headlines that came were the result of this. It’s an opportunity this year for the team to continue from where it left off.”
