“I’m making a new musical against the grain. I’ll just continue casting and selling tickets,” Albert told presenter Rick Nieman. “People need something more than just telling each other how bad it all is.”

As a producer of musicals and theater performances, Albert knows better than anyone that these are uncertain times for the cultural sector. Due to the corona measures, the theaters have been closed for months and now that everything is open again, the question is always how long that will be. Still, Albert doesn’t want to let his ear go to that, he says. “I want to radiate that positivity. Because there is also a lot that can be done. I want to pay attention to what is open. If museums are open, go there. Help those cultural entrepreneurs too,” he called on.

Albert also revealed that when he was no longer required to do so, he continued to wear his mask while shopping. “I thought: it probably won’t be necessary, but I’ll do it, because you can do something yourself.” It also bothers him that others don’t always do that. “Sometimes people come to me with their hands outstretched as a kind of statement of ‘we are going to shake hands’. Is it so hard not to do that for a while?”
