The mixed martial arts fighter, beatboxer, former YouTuber and American football player, who was born in the USA but grew up in Germany and has German citizenship, only started playing football with the Langenfeld Longhorns in GFL2 in 2021, but switched at the beginning of the first season in the EloF, to the Cologne Centurions, with whom he made it to the play-off semifinals. In the following offseason, he switched to Rhein Fire in Düsseldorf and before the first game of the season, back to the Langenfeld Longhorns in the GFL2. Another season with the Cologne Centurions was actually planned for the 2023 season, but ultimately the path led him to Braunschweig and the New York Lions.
At 6’1″ and 270 pounds, Albert Trovato is in the best physical shape to protect the Lions playmakers and provide the running backs with the gaps they need. The 39-year-old, who works as a personal trainer and bodyguard, trained especially for American football, although he only weighed 85 kg before. Through the two players and friends of the likeable and enthusiastic “Call of Duty” player with a former YouTube channel, Eugene Asiedu and Samuel Owusu, contact was established with Braunschweig and head coach Troy Tomlin, and after just one phone call, Albert Trovato drove to Brunswick the same evening.
