“Albert Heijn Offers 10% Wage Increase and Ends Strike Negotiations”

According to CNV director Roel van Riezen, Albert Heijn writes in the invitation that it is willing to pay a 10 percent wage increase and to remove all proposed deteriorations from the table. “That is sufficient reason for us to call on people to go back to work on Thursday morning.”

The handbook for a new conversation came Wednesday evening. “Thanks to the pressure of all strikers, Albert Heijn was finally willing to comply with our demands to come back to the table,” says Van Riezen. “I expect that we will soon be out as far as the other points are concerned.”

The parties are likely to talk again on Monday.

The impact of the strikes at the distribution centers, which started last Sunday, became increasingly visible in Albert Heijn supermarkets. The fruit and vegetable department and the bread racks were often much emptier than usual. The impact was also felt in our country.
