According to royalty watcher Marlène de Wouters, Albert II’s announcement shows that he has made peace with the whole situation. “It is not all roses and moonshine, but they are still clear steps forward”, she says in “The world today” on Radio 1 (see audio below). “After the decision of the court of appeal there is no longer any doubt. You can only move forward now and apparently they are doing that. That is positive.”
