The Ministry of Mobility, Transport and Housing has awarded the company Albero Extremadura the energy rehabilitation contract for 40 homes in the Suerte de Saavedra neighborhood in Badajoz for 1,820,644 euros to make them available for social rental.
The work will be carried out applying “energy efficiency criteria” in this building, which was owned by the Civil Guard, mainly through passive actions, “through the elements of the envelope with actions aimed at improving the thermal insulation of facades, roofs and floors, as well as the improvement of the carpentry and glazing of the openings”, according to the Junta de Extremadura in a press release.
In the same way, the energy consumption of the building will be limited, trying to satisfy it, to a large extent through the use of energy from renewable sources and air conditioning systems with low energy consumption, for which reason the building must achieve the highest possible energy rating.
Likewise, accessibility will be improved, in accordance with current regulations, through actions whose purpose is to remove barriers.
With this first phase, following the agreement reached with the Ministry of the Interior, these homes can be made available for social rental.
