The football family mourns the loss of a great talent. Albany defensive lineman AJ Simon has died at age 25. The football talent was recently close to a potential draft in the NFL. The cause of death of the talent was not known at first.

“The UAlbany football program is saddened by the death of former student-athlete Amitral ‘AJ’ Simon this morning,” his school said in a statement released on Wednesday. It continued: ” AJ was an outstanding young man and an even better teammate during his time at UAlbany. He was a role model both on and off the field and was a cornerstone of this program for the two years that left.”
Simon was from Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, and recorded 12.5 sacks last season for Albany. He played the last two seasons for Albany after The Role of the College started at Bloomsburg University.
“My prayers go out to the Simons family. I love you AJ and I will always have a special place in my heart for No. 8,” Albany coach Greg Gattuso said on X.
