The Albanian government, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama, has decided to abolish tourist visas for citizens of eight countries, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, India, Qatar, Oman and Thailand, the Albanian website Exit reported.

The decision was announced by Tourism Minister Mirela Kumbaro this week after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

As part of measures to support Albania’s tourism sector, the government has decided to resume the practice that citizens of a number of countries will be able to enter Albania for tourism purposes without visas, Kumbaro said.

Russian and Egyptian citizens can enter Albania without visas from April 20th to September 30th. The remaining tourists will be able to enter the country without visas until December 31.
