Alba Reyes helps build a shelter for a doctor who lost everything in the earthquake

that the lawyer and beauty exreina Alba Reyes He has dedicated himself to helping people for several years. That fight has taken her to remote places and now it’s up to her Puerto Rico, to this land that applauded her in her triumphs and that has accompanied her in the hardest moments of her life.

Among the many places that the model has served to carry supplies has been Ecuador, the town in which it reached the position of second finalist in Miss Universe 2004. Alba returned to that country in 2016 to carry supplies when a large earthquake caused devastation.

Another experience that he lived in his own flesh was during the passage of Hurricane Maria over Puerto Rico in 2017. Three weeks later, Reyes returned to his country to help his people distributing water and food throughout the island and no longer left. even though I had a job proposal in Los Angeles, California.

His work has been in the reconstruction of houses and roofs, currently working on the fourth and fifth housing. It is a housing project for people who could not qualify for federal and state aid and do not have the resources to do it themselves.

With this accumulation of experiences Alba embraced a new project: to support Dr. Enid Santos, from Guayanilla, who after losing her office and her residence in the earthquake on January 7, has dedicated herself to attending her fellow citizens for free in an improvised office between tents

Alba Reyes narrated this experience on the Instagram network and accompanied the text with several photos of the process to build a wooden structure for the doctor.

Even in times that shake the country. I need to pause and celebrate that yesterday we installed this little house for Dr. Enid Santos in Guayanilla. Dr. Santos lost her home and her medical office. Even so, he has been offering free medical services in an improvised clinic under tents. When we got there we saw his inflatable matre and outdoor belongings and he knew it was the first installation he wanted to do. Many times the people who serve the communities sacrifice their own needs and that is precisely what she has done along with a large team of volunteers. It is not your home, nor can you remotely replace it; but at least one place where I can put your mattress and be indoors: I have to thank everyone who made this possible. As always @ maderas3c that has been part of this project since I decided to start it more than two years ago. Thank you for donating this little house and the materials for the next one. In addition to all the volunteers who made it possible: Jesús Negron de Chuito’s Auto Services for transportation and your help. Hector de Jesus who always tells me that in all inventions still with his busy schedule. And to the Bright Planet Solar volunteers who traveled to P.R. A few days before your work trip to help. I also have to thank the Municipality of Guayanilla, for its support and help yesterday with the necessary heavy equipment to be able to download the house. How do you know this project is one that works independently with donations from companies and individuals, we do not receive help from the State or Municipal Government, in order to maintain its integrity. However, there are times when I need to use the resources I have available as in this case. And as I criticize both the inaction, and inefficiency of the Government, I also have to recognize when I ask for assistance and they give it to me. When I arrived on Thursday in Guayanilla they received me, nobody asked me who I was or what party I was, they didn’t tell me where to go or who to help, they didn’t ask for anything in exchange for help or assistance, they just thanked me for wanting to help and they made themselves available to me and I have to admit that.
