Alba Planas is only 21 years old and the Madrilenian has something that reminds us of another great actress, Winona Ryder at her best. Like her, Alba begins in the world of acting as a child. Alba Planas tells us about her latest characters in series such as Días Mejorae and Express
A couple of months ago you premiered the series Express, a story about express kidnappings. It seems like an argument designed more for the Latin American market. Do you think that the Spanish public will identify with this problem?
I would say yes, because despite the fact that the common thread of the series is the express kidnappings, the series talks about much more universal things and more everyday conflicts with which we can all feel identified.
What is your role at Express? Why would you recommend the series to us?
My character is Gus, a 17-year-old girl who is experiencing a series of romantic and personal conflicts that have a lot to do with her age. Throughout the series, due to a series of circumstances, she will have to grow up suddenly. What I find most interesting about ‘Express’ is that it is a series in which very extraordinary things happen to talk about human and ordinary conflicts.

And the most imminent premiere you have is the series “Best Days”, a story about couples, breakups and therapy. What exactly is the series about? What is your role?
‘Best days’ revolves around a therapy for fathers and mothers who have lost their partners, the series mainly talks about loss and everything that it entails. My character is Graci, a university student who loses her partner to whom she made a promise before she died, which will lead her to change her life forever. ‘Best Days’ is a series that talks about death, mourning, that shows a space to talk about pain, and in addition to all this it is also a series with which to laugh, as in life, even in the hardest moments They can make us laugh.
Why would you recommend the Better Days series to us?
It seems to me that it comes at a very necessary moment, in which we talk about mental health and the series gives voice to all of this, that is why I highly recommend it, it is a series with which to laugh, cry and reflect.

Another of your premieres is “Por los pelos”, a comedy by Nacho G. Velilla that seems to be delaying its premiere and is finally scheduled for August. How do you deal with doing a job and it takes so long for everyone to see it?
It is part of the functioning of the industry, and with the health crisis that we have experienced, it is normal for these things to happen. Above all, I try to see the good part, and I feel very grateful that, sooner or later, the work goes ahead, that people can see it and enjoy it. Premieres are always a bit dizzying but they are exciting.
On the head we want hair; but suddenly some people don’t want hair anywhere else on their body. What do you think about hair removal?
I am in favor of each person doing what they want, without judging others. Let everyone decide what they feel comfortable with. I wish there weren’t so much stigma and judgment towards women for shaving or not. We are on the way and it is becoming more normalized, but we still have to remove many prejudices.

Speaking of your hair, we love your look. How did she give you her for dyeing you 2 shades?
I like changes, trying new and different styles.
At the Malaga festival we also saw you with an unconventional makeup. cool. How do you normally like to do your makeup? What do you think of the look that Pedro Cedeño did for Dior Beauty?
The same thing happens to me with makeup, I like to try new things and take risks. In that Pedro is the best, he is always willing to create and investigate different styles. He has a lot of personality when it comes to makeup and I love all the makeup he offers me, it’s a very fun way of understanding makeup and I share his vision a lot.
How do you deal with being in a constant competition to get a role?
I have never seen this profession as a competition, on the contrary, it is a team effort, being happy for the achievements of your colleagues and finding colleagues who celebrate your achievements is one of the most beautiful things in the profession. In some way, it is true that there is constant uncertainty, that you have to work and learn to cope so as not to end up crazy, try to keep your feet on the ground and live in the present.

You have been in this world of acting since you were 7 years old. Why did you start giving acting classes as a child?
It was really something by chance, next to my house there was an acting school for children called Tritón, every time I passed through the door it caught my attention, until one day I told my mother that I wanted to sign up for her classes. That’s how I started, it was very good for me because I was a very introverted and shy girl, acting has always helped me overcome certain fears.
You were born on September 10, 2000. You rose to fame with the generational series Skam. How would you describe your generation? And how do you see yourself within your generation?
I think we are a generation that is beginning to give voice to certain issues that were previously totally silenced, such as mental health. I see around me, people who are eager to listen to themselves and others, willing to talk about issues that are not entirely easy and open up in certain emotional aspects, to improve as individuals and as a generation. We have taken a very big step in this aspect, personally, I feel in a very safe environment to share my fears and concerns, perhaps past generations did not have those spaces or they were not so evident. I really like that this is how it is and it makes me see that there is hope in the future.
