Alathur: Registration with SupplyCo is in progress for second crop paddy procurement. The registration which started on January 1 has crossed 5000. 99 percent of first crop rice harvesting is complete. Out of more than 29,000 farmers who grew paddy, about 20,000 have not received the price of paddy. At least 50,000 farmers are expected to register this time.
Only up to five acres per person
Whether owned or leased, five acres of paddy will be stored.
In case of group farming, up to 25 acres will be stocked.
Registration in the name of overseas Indians or minors will prevent getting rice price PRS loan.
Registration should be avoided in the name of those who have reached old age and those who are physically challenged to go to the bank.
Price disbursement will be through Canara and SBI Banks only.
Price will be distributed as PRS loan only.
The land of the registered farmer should be measured and certified by the Agriculture Officer. It is advisable to fill a sack of 55 kg with paddy.
The farm staff should ensure the quality and moisture content of paddy.
If there is cultivation and excess production beyond the limit, they will get paddy at the time of procurement if certified by the Agriculture Officer, but they will get only the support price of the Central Government.
