Pilot on vacation charged with attempted murder after trying to shut down engine on plane

When American Horizon Air Flight 2059 took off from Everett, Washington, bound for San Francisco, California, on the evening of the 22nd, an off-duty pilot attempted to shut down the aircraft’s engine during the flight.
The flight was carrying 80 passengers. After the incident, Horizon Air pilots made an emergency flight to Portland, Oregon, and requested the assistance of local law enforcement officials. After the plane landed, the perpetrator was immediately arrested by the police.
Horizon Airlines is a subsidiary of Alaska Airlines Group. Alaska Airlines said in a statement today that there were no incidents with the crew or passengers on board.
