Alarming Increase of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Cases in Tasikmalaya Regency, 1 Death Reported

Tasikmalaya – There were 111 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in Tasikmalaya Regency from January to February. Of these, one person was declared dead.

Head of Health Services for the Tasikmalaya Regency Health and Population Control Service, Iyen Nuryani, revealed that data on dengue cases comes from each Community Health Center. Based on existing data, in January there were 60 cases of dengue fever and in February there were 50 cases.

“So since January there have been 111 cases of dengue fever, one resident died, so in January there were 60 cases and in February there were 50 cases,” said Iyen, Thursday (14/3/24).

He revealed that the resident who died due to dengue fever came from Rajapolah. The patient received treatment late because he was considered cured.

“Those who died were residents of Rajapolah, this was because when they were sick with dengue fever there was a decrease in body temperature, so they were considered cured even though at first there was a decrease in platelets,” explained Iyen.

Meanwhile, data from the Tasikmalaya Regency SMC Regional Hospital states that as many as 14 patients with indications of dengue fever are undergoing medical treatment. 6 of them were pediatric patients.

“There are 8 adult patients and 6 pediatric patients. All are being treated at SMC Regional Hospital,” said Dr. Sudaryan, Head of Medical Services Section at SMC Regional Hospital. detikjabar Thursday (14/3/24).
