Alarm about spread of infection during zeroing

The infection is highest among the country’s younger people. Nevertheless, several student unions choose to arrange zeroing for new students.

– It is in exactly such contexts that we can get clusters of infection spread, says Britt Åkerlind, infection control doctor in Östergötland, to SVT.

In Växjö and Kalmar, they have been forced to cancel the zeroing after several students developed symptoms of covid-19.

In Umeå and Lund, the ritual is performed with certain safety measures. Among other things, this is justified by the fact that otherwise there would have been even more partying and less control.
