“Alappuzha to host Asian Powerlifting Women’s and Men’s Championship with over 200 athletes from 11 countries”

Alappuzha:The Asian Powerlifting Women’s and Men’s Championship will be held from May 1 to 6 at Ramada Hotel, Alappuzha. More than 200 athletes from 11 countries including Iran, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Philippines and Hong Kong will participate. The Indian team will come with 76 players including eight Malayalis.

The competitions are held from nine in the morning to six in the evening under the auspices of International Asian Powerlifting Federation, the regional body of International Powerlifting Federation, Powerlifting India, the national federation, and Kerala State Powerlifting Association.

Minister Saji Cherian will inaugurate the championship on May 1 at 6 pm. The closing session was held on the evening of May 6. Abdurrahiman will inaugurate.
