Alan Wake 2: Visuals, Atmosphere, and Performance Mode for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Starfield’s Todd Howard isn’t the only one who has recently decided to prioritize visuals and atmosphere over frame rate. Like Bethesda Game Studios, the Finnish studio Remedy also decided, albeit at Alana Wakea 2 they will still offer performance mode. The one on the consoles PlayStation 5 a Xbox Series X will allow you to play exciting, dark and action-adventure at a higher frame rate.

“The game was built from the ground up as a 30fps experience with a focus on visuals and atmosphere, but somehow we managed to include a solid Performance mode. We will discuss the details later,” stated head of communication Thomas Puha on the X social network.

The question is how much it will be. Mostly, this mod turns off ray tracing effects and lowers the graphics or resolution so that the game runs at 60 frames per second. When asked about this, Puha replied that he did everything is still fine. So stable 60 FPS for Alan Wake 2 has not yet been confirmed.

He later confirmed that he was talking purely about the console versions. So you can probably expect an unlocked frame rate on PC.

Alan Wake 2 will be released on 10/27 of this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (exclusively via the Epic Games Store). It will be sold digitally only. While you wait, you can check out a new preview from IGN. In the video, studio creative director Sam Lake talks about the Remedy Connected Universe and how Remedy games have always been connected in strange and interesting ways. We covered this earlier in this article.
