Disney (DIS.US) appointed co-chairman Alan Bergman to replace Alan Horn as chairman of Disney Pictures, and Horn will continue to serve as chief creative officer.
Bergman will be responsible for overseeing all content of Disney Pictures from creativity, operations to production and marketing, including Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Pictures.
Bergman worked at Disney for 24 years and served as President of The Walt Disney Company from 2005 to 2019, helping to integrate Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 21st Century Fox into the Disney brand.
Horn joined Disney as chairman of the board in 2012. In response to this news, he said that it is time to completely shift his attention to the company’s huge creative team.
