Strong reactions and ongoing consultations, a few hours before his jambol Maccabi – Panathinaikos in Belgrade for its playoffs Euroleague.
The presence of approx 1,000 followers of the Israeli team at Serbian capital city has caused discontent among the “green” ranks, according to reports, leaving all possibilities open.
The “greens” are reportedly reacting strongly to the request of the Israeli team for more than 300 fans on their side, which was apparently accepted by the Serbian authorities.
The strongman of the “green” KAE, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, (who is in Belgrade), posted a relevant reaction on social media, calling on the Euroleague not to allow all Maccabi fans to enter the “Stark Arena”.
It is worth noting that since last October, the Maccabi competes in Belgrade due to events in the Middle East, without fans present. Shortly before the Euroleague playoffs, the decision was reversed and approval was given by the Euroleague for the presence of Israeli fans in the Serbian capital if only the police agreed.
The “green light” for the presence of 1,000 – maybe even more – Maccabi fans in the stands by the police (while a maximum of 300 is expected), caused the reaction of Panathinaikos, with the people of the “green” holding consultations with the organizers and as therefore, all possibilities for jambol remain open.
It is recalled that the jamball of the match is set for the 20:00
