Alain Delon’s Best Film: Flic Story, A Must-Watch Detective Thriller. Tonight on TV!

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a reference in the detective genre.

Want to enjoy one of Alain Delon’s best films? So go to Arte this Monday evening to (re)discover the excellent thriller Flic Story.

Released in theaters in 1975, Cop Story takes the viewer to the end of the 1940s alongside Inspector Roger Borniche, played by Alain Delon. The police officer is responsible for searching for Emile Buisson (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a dangerous criminal escaped from the asylum who, for three years, commits crime after crime and escapes tracking.

Inspired by a true story, Flic Story is a reference in the detective genre, a gripping thriller that will fascinate you. Above all, you will be carried away by the performances of Alain Delon and Jean-Louis Trintignant, who excel in this adaptation of an autobiographical novel of the same name by Roger Borniche.

The memories of this ex-police officer will inspire three other films: The Gang (1976), René la Canne (1977) and L’Indic (1983).

At the helm of Flic Story, we find a true specialist in the detective genre in the person of Jacques Deray, who directed Alain Delon in no less than nine films, and not the least: Flic Story, but also La Piscine, Borsalino, Gently the Basses, Borsalino & Co., The Gang, Three Men to Kill, A Crime and The Teddy Bear. A collaboration that demands…

It should be noted that in order to give maximum authenticity to Flic Story, Alain Delon perfectly imitated the gestures and attitudes of Inspector Roger Borniche. So much so that the latter declared that he had found in the legendary actor’s performance an astonishing mimicry with his own quirks.

The feature film was a great success in French cinemas with nearly 2 million spectators in attendance. Ready to follow this exciting “cop story” in front of your television screen?

Tonight on Arte at 8:55 p.m.
