Officially, Nathalie Delon officially died of pancreatic cancer, in Paris, where euthanasia is prohibited except in very exceptional circumstances.
According to Anthony, his father considered his son’s behavior towards his mother admirable. And he would have asked her to “make the necessary decisions” when his time came.
However, Alain Delon has lived in Switzerland for many years, where euthanasia is authorized. And, from Geneva, the great actor has declared on many occasions his defense of the «right to die», even reasoning his possible «final» decision, with this type of argument: «I live in Switzerland, where euthanasia is authorized. From a certain age, from a certain moment, I believe that one should have the right to leave calmly, without hospitals, without punctures and such things. When the time comes, I will leave this world with no regrets. I have known it all, I have seen it all. But this time seems vomitive to me. Everything is false, everything is falsified.
Anthony Delon’s statements, discovering that he had received parental “instructions” to resort to euthanasia, and rumors about his father’s physical condition have fed a black chronicle that the actor’s family has not wanted to comment on, qualify or deny, in no sense.
In the case of a national glory, a legendary figure in the history of cinema, perhaps it is reasonable to expect clear and conclusive information. It is not a secret that Alain Delon had prepared his will years ago. Relations between Anthony and Anouchka Delon, the executor of the estate, have never stood out for exceptional intimacy and complicity.
