French actor Alain Delon has been placed under the status of “enhanced guardianship” by the court, a protection measure for vulnerable adults.

The 88-year-old Delon, who appeared in Plein soleil and La piscine, was already under judicial protection at the beginning of this year, meaning that he could no longer perform important legal acts – such as the sale of real estate – without the approval of a lawyer. third. The status of “curatelle renforcée” goes one step further. The management of all finances is then entrusted to a curator.

The protection statute proves its usefulness for vulnerable adults who neglect daily activities, for example as a result of an illness. Delon suffered a stroke in 2019.

The protection status – which is valid for a period of five years and can be extended once – was granted by the court of Montargis. This happened after a hearing on Thursday that lasted more than two hours, the French channel BFMtv reported, in the presence of daughter Anouchka Delon and the lawyers of the other children.

Fighting children

The actor’s three children have been arguing for some time about what should happen to their father. Eldest son Anthony accuses his half-sister Anouchka of withholding important information about his health. Together with Alain-Fabien – half brother of Anthony, full brother of Anouchka – he also accuses her of wanting to bring Delon to Switzerland, where she lives. She then took her two brothers to court because they recorded a private conversation between her and her father and then made it public. That case will go to trial in April 2025.
