Mayor for 25 years, Alain Bellamy casts a benevolent and proud look on his department. For him, the Eure-et-Loir is a “prosperous, ideally located and rich in its heritage and landscapes out of the ordinary. We have gems like the Château de Maintenon, economic assets like the Cosmetic Valley, and tourist attractions with the cathedral of Chartres ”. It was not so long ago that he was still playing football. From his many years in the field, he has retained a taste for sport and above all the conviction that physical activity is essential, especially for young people: “I think that this must be an integral part of education. It is the basis of everything ”testifies the great supporter of Chartres Métropole Handball. Now the new departmental councilor, Alain Bellamy, will officiate in the canton of Chartres 1, the canton of which his commune is part.
His favorites …
Chartres and its Cathedral
“We are lucky to see it from Clévilliers. When we walk around the woods and fields we only see it and I never tire of it. I really like going to Chartres for this monument but also for the lower town ”.
Clévilliers and its wooded natural area
“I am a walker, I like to walk and I appreciate nature just as much. Walking at sunset is a real pleasure, the landscapes become fantastic at this time of the day. On Sundays, I enjoy nature, at the gates of my town ”.

Eurelian forests
“Whether in Thymerais, Senonches or on the side of La Ferté-Vidame, the department has several forests which are, again, priceless areas for walking or observing nature. I am in favor of being more often outside than locked up and motionless in front of a screen ”.
The Odyssée complex, in Chartres
“If I like to walk, I also enjoy swimming. It is a magnificent complex which makes the territory shine. I go there regularly to swim laps in the outdoor Olympic pool with once again… a breathtaking view of Chartres Cathedral. “
