The Alabama Republican Party will provide former President Donald Trump with a framed copy of a resolution that the party unanimously approved, declaring him “one of the greatest and most effective presidents” in US history.
The framed resolution will be presented to Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday night.
“Whereas, President Donald J. Trump was one of the greatest and most effective presidents in the 245-year history of this Republic,” says the resolution honoring Trump at the beginning.
“President Trump put the American people and the American worker first in all his decisions and policies,” he continues.
He then goes on to mention other achievements of the 45th president, such as “Operation Warpspeed,” the largest tax cut in US history, and the withdrawal of the TPP and NAFTA, replacing them with the USMCA.
“The resolution basically just talks about the greatness of Donald J. Trump, how he made America great again and I hope other states will follow suit,” Perry Hooper Jr., a member of the state party’s executive committee, told Fox. News.
Hooper served as co-chair of the Trump campaign in Alabama in 2016 and served on Trump’s campaign finance committee prior to the 2020 election.
“He has done so many wonderful things,” said Hooper. “I was a kid when Reagan was elected and I thought that no one would top the great things that Ronald Reagan did. But then Donald J. Trump comes along and, in my opinion, he’s not just one of the great presidents, he’s the greatest president we’ve ever had in America. “
The resolution also praises Trump for taking on China and revitalizing American manufacturing.
“It took on China,” the resolution says, “by bringing the manufacturing industry back to the US and increasing ‘made in the USA’ production. While ensuring access to new markets for US farmers. “
The article that will be presented also mentions his military training and the assignment of 220 federal judges “who will interpret the Constitution as it is written,” as well as the confirmation of three judges for the Supreme Court.
It says Trump showed “strength and leadership” internationally by withdrawing from the “shady” Iran nuclear deal and finally installing the US embassy in Jerusalem.
“President Trump accomplished more in 48 months than Joe Biden in 48 years as senator and vice president,” the resolution says.
