President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi entered into a conversation with a sergeant in the armed forces, during his inspection visit today, Saturday, to the forces east of the Suez Canal.
Fighter Sergeant Basil Majdi Abdelaziz of the 116th Brigade Force, 23rd Field Army, asked about the period of his studies at the Class Training Institute, and the sergeant replied: “A year and 8 months, with service every 16 days and a vacation every 8 days.”
The president replied: “When I was at your age, I was after 40 days of service and only 5 days off, and there were no roads, no cars, or anything.”
The chief asked him again: “Married?” The sergeant replied: “I am not married, sorry about the engagement. I have an apartment in Al-Basateen.” The chief asked him: “How many installments do you pay per month?” The sergeant replied: “800 pounds per month.”
