Al Nasr continues his successful streak in the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr got three points after winning the away game to Al Shabab headquarters 2-1.
Riyadh derby between Al Shabab vs Al Nasr took place at Al Shabab Stadium on Saturday (19/10) early morning WIB. Both teams played out a goalless first half, before Aymeric Laporte broke the deadlock to open up the visitors’ lead.
Drama happened in the last minutes of the game, where Al Shabab got the equalizer thanks to an own goal from Al Nassr players. Cristiano Ronaldo then the score of the visitors increased from the spot, then Al Shabab failed to take advantage of the penalty in the last second.

This victory boosted Al Nassr’s position in second place in the Saudi Arabian League standings with 17 points from seven games. Al Nassr are four points behind leaders Al Hilal, while Al Shabab remain fourth with 12 points.
Al Nassr dominated the game. Al Nassr’s first chance from Cristiano Ronaldo in the eleventh minute. However, his shot after meeting Marcelo Brozovic’s pass was still off the mark.
Al Shabab responded nine minutes later from Hussain Al Sibyani, although his right-footed shot missed. Al Shabab created a golden opportunity after Salem Al Najdi’s shot from close range went wide.
Al Nassr began to attack the opponent’s defense. Otavio’s forward pass was followed by Sadio Mane with a kick from the center of the penalty box. Kim Seung-gyu is still very willing to catch the ball.
After the match had passed half an hour, Al Shabab threatened Al Nassr again. Cristian Guanca’s shot from outside the penalty box narrowly missed the goal post.
Cristiano Ronaldo responded with a shot from a tight angle, but the ball went off target. The score remained 0-0 until the end of the first half.
After the break, Al Nassr created chances from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Simakan. The deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute.
After a corner kick from the left wing Aymeric Laporte had a kick on his left foot. The ball hit the ground, then went into the Al Shabab defense before deflecting off Kim Seung-gyu. Al Nassr lead 1-0.
Al Nassr almost increased their lead. Mane’s hard kick from the left side of the penalty box went slightly off the mark, followed by another shot that bounced just over the Al Shabab crossbar.
Mane burst into Al Shabab’s goal but it was ruled out after being reviewed by VAR. Ronaldo was adjudged offside when he passed Mane.
Al Shabab actually scored in the 90th minute. Ali Al Hassan expected a cross from the left wing so it was swept into the Al Nassr goal. The score is now 1-1.
At the end of injury time, the referee awarded a penalty after Robert Renan fouled Abdulrahman Ghareeb. This decision created a minor conflict between players from both sides.
Ronaldo stepped up as a penalty taker, then fired a low shot into the bottom corner of the Al Shabab goal. Al Nassr returned to the lead with a score of 2-1.
Al Shabab were awarded a penalty after Simakan’s foul on Nader Al Sharari. Simakan was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, Abderazzak Hamdallah then stepped forward as a substitute. Unfortunately, Hamdallah’s kick hit the post. The rebound was quickly swept away by Al Nassr to maintain the lead until the final whistle of the game.
