The Sixth World Congress of Psychiatry and the accompanying exhibition at King Saud University, entitled “Adult Mental Health,” concluded today. The discussion topics dealt with prevention and early diagnosis of mental disorders, psychotherapy, early social interventions, and communicative medicine, in addition to the first episode of psychosis, women’s mental health, and substance abuse. Conference President Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadi explained that the event was organized by the Department of Psychiatry at the College of Medicine and the University Medical City in cooperation with the SABIC Chair for Health Research and Applications, and included five workshops during which participants presented many types of psychological treatment and how to deal with psychological disorders. Nine scientific sessions were also presented. With the participation of a number of specialists from the United States, Canada, Britain, South Africa, and some Arab and regional countries.

The accompanying exhibition witnessed the participation of 45 entities specialized in the field of mental health, including governmental and private bodies, committees, and centers. It included multiple pavilions for the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, the pavilion of academic colleges and departments, student clubs, King Saud University Publishing House, the volunteer office on campus, and the associations pavilion. Scientific and scientific magazines specialized in psychology and social studies, the pavilion of non-profit associations, the pavilion of centers and clinics specialized in the field of mental health, the pavilion of health platforms and visual psychological applications, in addition to the pavilion of the branch of the Saudi Society for Fine Arts in the Riyadh region, where the importance of art and its relationship to psychological treatment was highlighted through a presentation.
