One inevitably comes to this conclusion after reading the actor’s memoirs (“The Godfather”), published on October 15th.
In “Sunny Boy” Pacino describes his life as a street boy in New York’s South Bronx. “It was due,” said the 84-year-old opposite PEOPLE.
The time back then was marked by mishaps and a lot of mischief. Pacino’s parents were divorced and he and his friends stole food. The trips through New York in the late 1940s were sometimes really painful!

The actor remembers one incident in particular as “one of the most embarrassing experiences” of his life. When he was ten years old, he once balanced over a fence, slipped and landed with his crown jewels directly on an iron bar.

Pacino was in so much pain that he could hardly go home. A groaning man picked him up on the street and took him to his aunt.
A doctor had to come. Until the doctor arrived, his aunt and his mother, who had now rushed over, as well as his grandmother, took a careful look at the “accident scene” and spoke in whispers.
“I lay on the bed with my pants pulled down to my ankles while the three women in my life poked at my penis,” Pacino writes. These images would haunt his thoughts to this day.
