Al Nassr paid 60 million euros for Otávio and FC Porto received €35.5 million, after deducting the percentage from BMG bank (32.5%) and commissions
Luís Castro, coach of Al Nassr, welcomed the signing of his compatriot Otávio, a Portuguese international midfielder who left FC Porto last summer to, in exchange for 60 million euros, reinforce the Saudi club. In an interview with Sport TV, Luís Castro admitted that the negotiations were not easy until there was ‘white smoke’, already at the beginning of the last week of August.
Otávio has 4 goals and 2 assists in 22 games this season
«We wanted Otávio but there was no budget, FC Porto wanted to receive 40 million at once. And that wasn’t there. But, in the meantime, Neymar came to Al Hilal and, then, they had to open the budget for the other teams. What was not possible became possible, but in installments”, said the coach, explaining how, now, the former dragon is idolized in Riyadh.
«Otávio accepted a new club, a new culture. He arrived, imposed himself and today he is very loved for the way he plays and the way he gives himself. Technically, tactically and mentally he is very strong. He has a bit of Ronaldo’s mind in the way he looks at work and each game. He always wants to play, win, if he doesn’t have the ball he wants to get it back, he can play six, eight, wherever I want. Other players cower in a corner and don’t take any risks,” said Luís Castro.
