Al-Nassr insists on Soufiane Rahimi

Al-Nassr have renewed their contacts with the management of Al-Ain, an Emirati club, with the aim of recruiting Moroccan international Soufiane Rahimi during this summer transfer window. This move follows Al-Nassr’s recent defeat to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final, where they lost 4-1.

According to sources close to the club, Al-Nassr officials have resumed talks with Al-Ain to try to sign Rahimi, who is now in the sights of several clubs after his impressive performances in the Asian Champions League and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with the Moroccan Olympic team.

Al-Nassr are reportedly ready to make a significant financial offer to convince Al-Ain to let Rahimi go. However, the Emirati club, although they have no intention of parting ways with their star player, are ready to consider the Saudi club’s final offer before making a final decision.

The defeat against Al-Hilal also angered Al-Nassr fans, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s frustration, captured on camera, prompted the club to strengthen its squad, including the signing of a striker of Rahimi’s calibre.

Soufiane Rahimi shone at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 8 goals, equalling Argentina’s Carlos Tevez’s record set in 2004. He also surpassed other big names in African football in terms of the number of goals scored in a single edition of the Olympic Games.

Rahimi scored in all of the Moroccan national team’s matches at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which helped attract the attention of Al-Nassr and other clubs to him.
