Al-Nasr Looks to Continue Winning Streak in AFC Champions League Group E

Al-Nasr is looking for its second successive victory in the AFC Champions League, after recently achieving victory over its host, the Iranian team Persepolis, with a clean double, in the match that brought together the two teams at Azadi Stadium in the first round of the competition.

Al-Nasr qualified for the group stage of the Asian competition after skipping the preliminary round at the expense of Shabab Al-Ahly of the Emirates after an exciting match that ended with Al-Alamy winning 4-2.

Al-Nasr snatched a difficult victory from its host Al-Taie team, with two goals to one, in the match that brought them together on Friday evening, at “Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed bin Jalawi” Stadium, within the matches of the eighth round of the Saudi Football League competitions for the current season 2023-24.

Al-Nasr rose to second place in the Saudi League table, with 18 points, while Al-Taei’s score stopped at 7 points in twelfth place.

In the rest of today’s matches, Al-Ittihad Jeddah will meet with Sepahan of Iran, Al-Sharjah of the Emirates will meet with Al-Faisaly of Jordan, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya of Iraq will face Olmalik of Uzbekistan, while Al-Sadd of Qatar will face its counterpart Nasaf Karshi of Uzbekistan, and Al-Duhail of Qatar will face Persepolis of Iran.

The Asian Championship regulations stipulate that the first-place team in each group in the Western Region qualifies for the round of 16 in the Champions League, in addition to the three best second-place clubs in the five groups.
