Al-Nasr Club officials are intending not to change Ivorian Sekou Fofana, the midfielder of the first football team, during the current winter transfers, despite the verbal offers he received.
Private sources told Al-Riyadiya dispelled doubts about the international player’s future, confirming that he will remain with Al-Asfar, and ruling out his departure during the winter “mercato”, which began the day before yesterday, and will continue until January 30 of this year.
News spread about the capital club changing Fofana and replacing him with another foreign player. The same sources indicated that the club was satisfied with what the Ivorian presented during the first half of the current season, and that the player was also satisfied with his presence with Al-Nasr, considering him a “key player” in the team.
Sekou has been representing Yellow since last summer, and has a three-year contract with him. He participated in 19 matches this season in the Saudi Roshen League, the King’s Cup, and the AFC Champions League, in addition to the Arab Championship matches, the title of which was won by Al-Nassr.
The Ivorian will play with his country’s national team, the host, in the African Cup finals after being summoned by French coach Jean-Louis Gasset.
