Today marks 63 years since the production of the Egyptian comedy film “Rumor of love“, which is considered one of the most important films of Egyptian cinema, specifically in terms of comedy, even though its two main heroes, Omar el-shiref And Soad Hosni are not classified as comedians, but the work itself is full of funny and unforgettable comedic situations.

The presence of the distinguished artist Youssef Wehbe in the events of the work as the character of the old “Abdel Qader Nashashji”, who has long experience in the world of women and relationships, added to the film a special charm in comedy, along with the late Abdel Moneim Ibrahim in the character “Mahrous”, who excelled in imitation within the events. the film.

The film was directed by Fateen Abdel Wahab, a director who excelled in directing comedic films, whether starring comedians or other artists. It was produced in 1960, with a script and dialogue by Ali Al-Zarqani and Muhammad Abu Youssef.

The events of the American film take place in the year 1919.
