Tariq Hashem, a member of the board of the Egyptian club Al-Portsaidi, revealed his opinion in the event Al-Ahly was crowned the league championship if he canceled the current season.
The Egyptian Football Association had previously decided to postpone the resumption of the league competition in light of the spread of the new epidemic of Corona virus (Covid 19).
Al-Masry Council member added in special statements to “Yalla Koura” today, Sunday: “It is not fair to give Al-Ahly the league title if the season is canceled.”
He continued: “If the season is canceled, then the situation must be as follows, there is no hero announced and there is no ups and downs, how is Al-Ahly awarded the title and the number of points remaining between it and the second-place player less than the number of match points remaining at the end of the league?”
He continued: “It is necessary to announce the cancellation of the current season quickly, and sports activity will not be affected in Egypt if the cancellation decision is applied.”
He continued: “The second, third and fourth class clubs were supported by the International and the Ministry of Youth and Sports after the Corona virus crisis and activity ceased.”
And he ended, “Most of the league clubs are committed to the players, technical equipment and all workers in material terms, and the Egyptian is fully committed to all parts of the system.”
Al-Ahly tops the Egyptian we league competition with 49 points from 17 games, where the red team is 16 points away from the second-place Arab Contractors team.
