While inspecting the streets of the village, we met with a group of people carrying out purges of streets, homes, schools and government institutions, under the supervision and follow-up of the infection control teams of the Belkas Health Administration.
Initially, the people refused to enter the village and photograph it, on the pretext of distorting the media to the image of the village and its people, but after convincing them that we would transmit the whole truth, they allowed us to roam and photograph.
Rabea Wagdy, a resident of the village and one of the participants in the cleansing operations, said: “We are not an affected area, as the media says we have only one death and 3 positive cases, and they were transferred to the hospital and their condition is good and they will be released soon, while all the samples that were taken were negative, however “We have become ostracized because of the media and the social media which launches many rumors.”
He added: “Fear is what drove people to sit in their homes and not health instructions or decisions to isolate.” Rejection of the statements of Dr. Hala Zayed, the Minister of Health, to isolate 300 families, saying: “We are living in our country naturally, but in precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infection, including reducing mixing.” And friction, and the one who takes the street out takes the muzzle to buy his family’s needs.
He continued: «After the death case appeared, the Health Directorate and the follow-up and infection control teams, I worked for all contacts, took samples and thank God all came out negative, except for only 3 cases from their relatives and they asked us to take our precautions and precautionary measures to not transmit the infection, and the teams cleared the two schools and the health unit And all the institutions in the village, ”he added, adding:“ We live a normal life, but by reducing mixing and friction as a preventive measure. ”
Mohamed Magdy Salem, the mayor of the village said: “We suffer from the false statements of the Minister of Health. There is no isolation in any family, but there are precautionary measures for fear of spreading the virus or the emergence of new cases.”
He added: “The awareness and culture percentage in the Great Village of Samahia is large, and the education rate exceeds 80% and immediately after the death, we have taken precautionary measures according to the instructions of the specialists, which is not to go out of the house, close cafes, prevent hookahs, and people go out to the stores and buy their supplies themselves and live their lives naturally but calmly. In the sense that the one who does not need to go out does not leave his house in order to preserve his life, and this is a decision we made in the village of our own will. ”
He added: “Health infection control teams have cleared the schools and government institutions immediately after the death of the case, but we, through self-efforts, purify the streets, homes and the village completely daily and many of the village’s youth and its people donated to buy antiseptics and participate in the cleansing operations.”
Regarding the injury and death of the first case with Corona, he explained: “Until now, we do not know how she was infected, and what the Minister of Health said is false, because the case did not come into contact with people infected with the virus, nor did they come in contact with foreigners or people coming from abroad. The deceased person came from Italy and the body arrived in the village one day Last January 25, his Italian wife spent only 3 days in the village, that is, before the disease originally appeared, and the family of the deceased did not meet her, and she did not comfort her, as there is no connection between them. Thank God, all samples that were drawn from the villagers came negative.
He continued: «As for the second case and the deceased in the city of Belqas, it did not mix with the first case and does not know it, and the three cases that were transferred and isolated in Ismailia Hospital are in stable condition and responded to treatment, and the first sample came after a period of isolation for one of the negative cases, and waiting for the second sample.
“Al-Masry Al-Youm” left the village of Samahia, and moved to the city of Belqas, which witnessed the death of the second case, Ahmed Ali Amer, 56 years old, and we discovered that the city is less aware of the village, people live their lives naturally, and the women and men stand in lines in front of the post office and in front of the police station, In front of the banks, and street vendors, they circulate in the streets a few meters away from Belqas Hospital, while children have fun on the street, and many do not care about the presence of the Corona virus.
At a time when the government declared a state of emergency in the entire Dakahlia governorate after the Ministry of Health announced that it was one of the highest hotbeds of infection, citizens suffered from indifference and indifference and practiced their lives normally in most areas, especially in the Belqas Center.
