Germany coach Hansi Flick confirmed that he is not worried about the difficult period Bayern Munich are going through at the moment, two months before the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“Bayern played very well at the start of the season and, after the third stage of the German league, everyone thought that the other teams had no chance,” Flick said in an interview published by the German news agency. He added: “Now they are going through a phase where the team seems weaker, but they always create chances and this gives me a very positive feeling.”
Flick, who relies on a large group of Bayern players led by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the national team, believes that the Bavarian team’s players have “enormous competence” and a “special style”.
Flick also believes Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is a wonderful coach and said: “I’m a fan of the way he plays for the team, regardless of recent results.”
Flick also fails to see that Bayern Munich made a mistake in deciding not to sign a traditional spearhead to replace Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona.
“What should they have done?” Flick said. Robert is exceptional in this position, perhaps Haaland, the Manchester City player, has that quality in front of goal. “
Flick said that Sadio Mane has arrived at Bayern and is definitely a first-class player.
