Al-Khoury explained that Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Mualla, Chairman of the Sharjah Chess Club, President of the Arab Federation, Vice President of the International Federation, who attended the tournament, played a major role in establishing the best standards and practices, through his directives with technical and logistical support for the tournament, in addition to his keenness to attend its various activities. in the capital, Khartoum.
Al-Khoury praised the attention given to the championship by the official authorities and the Sudanese Ministry of Youth and Sports, in line with the consolidation and upholding of values that support the creation of initiatives that enhance the sustainability of future directions to advance the game of chess, enhance the capabilities of players and discover talents to create champions who are able to confirm development that is in line with the vision of the Arab Federation. for chess.
He added: I was keen to travel to Sudan to follow the tournament at the invitation of the brothers with the remarkable momentum that surrounded it, especially as it qualifies for the World Cup of smart people, and it is awarded the title of Senior International Professor and Senior International Professor, and other titles, and the competition was very good, and we followed the high levels of male and female players. .
