Al Jazeera rejects Israeli military claims journalists it killed in Gaza were ‘terrorists’

Peloponnese Newsroom

The Al Jazeera network today rejected claims by the Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) that the two journalists of the Qatari television network who were killed in the Gaza Strip were “terrorists”.

In a press release, Al Jazeera “strongly condemns and categorically rejects – while expressing its great surprise at – the false and misleading attempts by the Israeli military to justify the killing of our colleague Hamza Wael al-Dahdu and other journalists.”

“He was killed because he was just doing his job, because he shed light on events that the Israeli army would prefer to remain in the dark” and not be investigated, he adds.

Al Jazeera rejects all accusations against our colleagues and calls on the international community to ensure that the Israeli army is held accountable for its crimes.
