Boudargham stressed that Basil and Jumblatt discussed the economic situation, as well as the document on presidential priorities that Basil holds, while the two sides did not discuss proposed names for the presidency.
The two sides agreed, according to Boudargham, that communication between them would continue even if no agreement was reached on a name for the president of the republic.
Boudraghem indicated that Jumblatt had contacted the Chief of Staff, Amin Al-Erem yesterday, informing him that he had done everything necessary to postpone his dismissal in order to avoid the occurrence of a vacuum in the military, but that “it is not the case”, while the dossier was not raised during today’s meeting with Bassil.
