TOKYO, 25 September / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and President-designate of the Conference of the Parties (COP28), met during his working visit to Tokyo with His Excellency Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan.
This meeting comes to follow up on the outcomes of the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Abu Dhabi last July, and to discuss developments in bilateral relations, initiatives and projects and ways to enhance them within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency conveyed the greetings of the wise leadership of the UAE and its wishes to the Japanese government and people for further progress and prosperity, stressing the depth of the relations between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest, in the economic, commercial, industrial and investment sectors, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed a range of topics, including the importance of working to achieve transformation in the energy sector in a logical and responsible manner, which contributes to doubling climate action efforts, and the UAE’s preparations to host the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) during The period from November 30 to December 12 of this year.
