Settle the Mohamed Salah deal within hours

The Jeddah Federation is seeking to end negotiations with Liverpool to sign Mohamed Salah hours before the summer transfer market closes in England, as this is expected to be resolved within the coming hours.

There is only one day left before closing the registration in the English Premier League, which is set for September 1, while there are only 8 days left in the Saudi League transfer season.

News of the Mohamed Salah deal

Many Saudi newspapers insist that the Jeddah Union is close to settling the contract with Mohamed Salah, the “deal of the century,” as some call it, given that it is one of the most important deals if it is officially completed.

Saudi media: Mohamed Salah in Mecca tomorrow

For his part, Saudi journalist Othman Abu Bakr bet, in his interview with the “Diwaniya” program via Saudi sports channels, that Mohamed Salah will be in Mecca tomorrow, stressing that he learned from his private sources that the Egyptian star’s deal had been settled.

Saudi sports: Mohamed Salah agrees and Liverpool maneuvers

While the Saudi Al-Riyadiah newspaper, in its paper issue today, Thursday, headlined under the image of the Egyptian international: “Salah agrees … and Liverpool maneuvers.”

The Saudi sportswoman added that Liverpool wants to reach a number greater than what is offered to him to settle the deal, after confirming the position of Mohamed Salah himself.

And the newspaper added that Mohamed Salah put the ball in the court of Liverpool management and Jurgen Klopp, the coach of the team, by confirming that he would not accept breaking the contract and paying the penalty clause except with their direct approval.

The Saudi sportswoman also indicated that Liverpool is proceeding with the deal to the last minutes before closing the transfer window in the English Premier League, which closes on Thursday evening, in order to reach a number greater than what is offered to it, after confirming the position of Mohamed Salah himself.

The story of the penalty clause in the contract of Mohamed Salah

While Dave Kumar, an expert in sports laws, talked about the possibility of Egyptian Mohamed Salah breaking his contract with Liverpool, England, after closing the transfer window in England and moving to Al-Ittihad this season.

Dave Kumar added, during media statements to the “In the Goal” program on Al-Arabiya channel, that as long as the Saudi market is open, there is an opportunity for Salah to transfer, but it is difficult for Liverpool, because he will not be able to replace Salah.

And the sports jurist continued, saying in the statements that the Saudi newspaper, Sabq, highlighted: “If there is a clause in the Egyptian player’s contract stating that he will pay the penalty clause, then he can pay it and leave, as this situation has happened previously with Uruguayan Luis Suarez.”

He pointed out that in the Spanish League the penalty clause can be paid and the contract terminated, while the matter is not the case in the English Premier League.

And “Kumar” stated regarding the possibility of “Salah” breaking his contract during the coming period, that this is difficult to implement in England unless it is stipulated, unlike what is happening in Spain and other leagues.

Today’s Saudi newspaper, on the Salah deal: The ball is in Liverpool’s court

The same thing was confirmed by the Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, that the Al-Ittihad administration has no alternative but to resolve direct negotiations with the Liverpool administration during the next few hours, especially since the fans of the dean are still dreaming of completing the historic Mohamed Salah deal.

The Saudi newspaper responded to the question of Al-Ittihad supporters about the possibility of Mohamed Salah terminating his contract with Liverpool and paying the dean’s administration the penalty clause if the player agreed to leave, stressing that there are no penalty clauses in the Egyptian star’s contract.

She added that Mohamed Salah’s new contract, which was concluded in July of last year 2022 with Liverpool, does not include a penalty clause, which obliges the management of the Federation or any other club wishing to buy the player by negotiating directly with his English club.

The newspaper, “Daily Mail”, confirmed in a report yesterday that Al-Ittihad club is preparing an offer of 118 million pounds sterling, to include Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, after previously offering him an amount of 100 million pounds sterling.

The newspaper added that Liverpool is still steadfast in its position, that its Egyptian star is not for sale, especially since the Reds management knows very well that the departure of Mohamed Salah at this time will anger technical director Jurgen Klopp, especially since Salah is a key element in the German coach’s project.
