Negotiations at this stage are understood to focus on the initial fee, payment structure, and add-ons.
Once an agreement is reached, personal terms with the Saudi Professional League club are likely to be a formality and the move could be completed as early as next week.

Benfica will have to pay 30 per cent of any future transfer fee to Jota, who joined Celtic on loan in 2021 before the Glasgow club activated its release clause last summer.
Jota, who signed a five-year contract, scored 15 goals and provided 12 assists last season.
Al-Ittihad recently signed Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and N’Golo Kante from Chelsea, following their acquisition of the Public Investment Fund.

Celtic have signed Marco Tellio from Melbourne City
Celtic have announced the signing of Australian international Marco Tellio from Melbourne City.
The 21-year-old winger has agreed a five-year deal at Celtic Park, becoming Brendan Rodgers’ second signing at the club.
Tellio, who has been following a group of Australians pulling the green and white hoops, told Celtic TV: “I’m delighted to be coming to Europe, to be coming to a great club and team, and I’m super excited.
“I hope to bring all my attributes, play players in and around the penalty area, help the team contribute goals with assists and hopefully put some in the net as well.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me, and having seen the Australian come out and play so well at such a prestigious club, it’s a great opportunity for me that I couldn’t deny.
“And obviously being around those two guys, Aaron Mooy and Tommy Rogic, in the national team camp the last few years has helped me make an easier decision.”
