Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper indicated that Al-Ittihad has begun its negotiations with Islam Hawsawi, the left-back of the Al-Wahda team, in order to finalize his contract at the present time.
The newspaper added that Al-Ittihad began intensifying its movements during the recent period, in order to sign a local defender, due to the circumstances that the team went through during the Club World Cup and then the Saudi Roshen League.
Al-Ittihad’s last match against Al-Nasr in El Clásico witnessed the absence of more than one member of the defense line, namely Luiz Filipe, Swailem Al-Menhali, Madallah Al-Olayan, Omar Hawsawi, Ahmed Bamasoud, and Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti.

It is noteworthy that Hawsawi was close to moving to Al Hilal Club last summer on loan, but the deal was not completed due to Al Wahda’s request for a transfer fee of 10 million Saudi riyals.
