SAINT SUNDAY.-The return of Al Horford, prior to the start of the current NBA season, was questioned by many.
What could a 35-year-old veteran bring to what may be the final stretch of his career who didn’t see action for half of the previous season?
The Dominican waited to silence all the skeptics on the court, leading the Celtics to be one of the best teams of the season and the most efficient in all of 2022.
Now comes the stage that resists him. The playoffs during his career have not been the problem.
Both with the Atlanta Hawks, and in his first stage with the Celtics and even with the Philadelphia 76ers, the center reached the postseason, although in many of them LeBron James did not allow him to advance.
But now there is a more mature Al Horford, more leader, more decisive, who has been key in the good season that his team has exhibited and who wants to go further, to complete his ‘unfinished business’.
Horford has been that piece that has given balance to the whole of the Boston Celtics. But you don’t always see his impact on the court as much as off it.
He is not a born scorer, but he has the tools to do it when the team needs it.
