Al Hilal advanced to the semifinals Saudi Arabia King’s Cup 2023/2024. Blue Waves escape after defeating Al Taawoun three goals without reply.
The Saudi Arabian King’s Cup quarter-finals brought together Al Hilal vs Al Taawoun. The match took place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, Monday (11/12/2023) evening WIB.
Al Taawoun was able to put pressure on Al Hilal at the start of the first half. The goal for Kalidou Koulibaly cs was only created before halftime.
Starting from a corner kick, Michael received the ball in the penalty box and kicked it into the goal. The ball was pushed out by Mailson before being hit by Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Video Assistant Referee (VAR) replays showed that Michael’s shot had already crossed the goal line before being pushed over by Mailson. The goal was declared to belong to Mailson and not Mitrovic. Al Hilal leads 1-0.
Al Hilal doubled their lead six minutes into the second half. This time it was Mitrovic who put his name on the scoreboard.
Mitrovic managed to head in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s cross from the left side. Al Hilal pulled away 2-0.
Malcom successfully beat Mailson with a shot from close range, maximizing Michael’s assist. The score changed 3-0 to Al Hilal and was the final result of the match.
This victory brought Al Hilal to the semifinals of the Saudi Arabian King’s Cup. Jorge Jesus’ troops have the opportunity to meet other top teams such as Al Nassr and Al Ittihad.
