Sharjah, October 23 / WAM / The Al Hamriyah Municipality in Sharjah, through its efforts in supporting environmental sustainability projects, received the International Green Flag Award in recognition of the outstanding efforts made by the municipality in improving the management of public parks and providing a sustainable environment for the community in the Beach Park and the Eastern District Women’s Park.
Al Hamriya Municipality received the award in a ceremony held yesterday evening in the presence of Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriya Municipality, and a number of Al Hamriya Municipality cadres, stakeholders, and representatives of the donor.
The International Green Flag Award reflects the efforts made by Al Hamriyah Municipality to enhance the management of public parks with high efficiency, provide public parks with high standards of quality and sustainable environmental management, and raise the level of public satisfaction with parks and gardens.
Mubarak Al Shamsi said, “This achievement comes as a result of the great efforts made by the work teams to raise the efficiency of the services provided and to ensure sustainable management in public parks, in conjunction with the declaration of 2023 as the Year of Sustainability in the United Arab Emirates, which is considered an additional incentive to adopt all projects and standards that support Sustainability.”
