The Government Tenders and Auctions Board, which is responsible for monitoring public procurement contracts in Bahrain, opened in its weekly session yesterday (Thursday) 16 tenders and auctions for a number of ministries and official authorities in the Kingdom.
According to data collected by Al-Bilad, the total value of the best bids submitted in terms of value amounted to about 14.6 million dinars, as 64 bids submitted by local and international companies competed to win the bids offered, as government contracts represent one of the most prominent economic engines in the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Works had the highest value in terms of tenders presented during yesterday’s session, as it opened two tenders for the rehabilitation of the sewage network A, B, E and Q for the seventh and eighth phases, as one company, DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL ROHRSANIERUNG GmbH & Co. KG received the lowest bids, with a value of 3.9 million dinars in the first tender, and 4.4 million dinars in the second tender.
Yesterday, the Muharraq Municipality launched 3 auctions to invest sites in the city of East Hidd at about 1.7 million dinars.
The first bid, which was put forward in the Tender Board yesterday, aims to obtain the best competitive offers for the investment and operation of vacant land No. 1 for shops located on Street 24, Block 119, by managing and operating them as shops serving the region.

The second bid for the second site aims to attract competitive offers to invest and operate vacant land for commercial shops located on Street 2108, Block 121, and the third bid was allocated for the same purpose, for Road 21, Block 122.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority opened two tenders, the first is to offer to rent a land in Bahrain Bay Beach, Plot C. The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority received its offers from qualified companies with experience in developing beach management and operation. The authority is looking for a company with experience in beach management and water entertainment experience. To create a unique experience taking into account aspects of ecotourism, an experienced company will be contracted; For the opportunity to work with the government in the management and operation of a plot of land in Bahrain Bay Beach.
The companies submitted 3 offers, the highest bid was submitted by Awan Al-Sharqiya Company, with a value of 972 thousand dinars, and the lowest bid was from “Solamar” Company, with a value of 7600 dinars.
In addition, during the week’s session, the authority also opened a tender for managing events on New Year’s Eve 2024, the fourth edition and the Bahrain Festival 2023 fifth edition, where 3 companies competed for the contract, as the lowest bid was from FY ADVERTISING AND PUBLICITY WLL at a value of 764 thousand dinars.
As for the “Bapco Supply Company”, envelopes were opened for it to renew the fuel management system, sales office, distributor and canopy for the service station of the Bapco Retail Company in Al-Nuzha, where Saleh Abdullah Kamshki and Sons B.S.C submitted the lowest bid with a value of 843 thousand dinars.
In the oil sector as well, Bapco won a tender for the manufacture, examination and supply of a bundle of tubes for the vertical condenser in the crude distillation unit, where Ramses Engineering offered the lowest amount for the tender, at a value of 103 thousand dinars.
The Tender Board opened a tender for the Ministry of Social Development to operate the Al-Matrook Center for Counseling Rehabilitation for People with Cerebral Palsy, where the Bahraini Dar Al-Hikma Society submitted the lowest bid, with a value of 869 thousand dinars.
Returning to the land investment activity, the “Edamah” company offered to lease and develop agricultural land in the Hamala region, as the company’s offer attracted 4 bids, the highest of which was from Dyna contracting at a value of 103 thousand dinars.
A number of entities also won an orphan tender for each of them, namely the House of Representatives, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Bahrain International Circuit, and the Electricity and Water Authority, for which a tender was opened for the latter. In order to maintain the integrated security system, for which PKE Gulf WLL submitted the lowest bids, with a value of 430 thousand dinars.
