President of the Economic Council for Businesswomen at the Alexandria Chamber and a member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Chambers, Reem Siam, praised the performance of Bahraini businesswomen and their activities in various fields of investment, especially with regard to small and medium enterprises.
Siam confirmed that the channels of communication and cooperation have been extended between the two parties since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two sides, as a result of which many joint activities and mutual visits were organized.
During a recent meeting with a delegation of Bahraini businesswomen, headed by Ahlam Janahi, she reviewed the options available to strengthen business ties between businesswomen in the two countries, and encourage the creation of more innovative pilot projects under the umbrella of the UNIDO office in Bahrain.
In turn, the head of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, Ahmed El-Wakeel, said during the meeting that the integration of women into the economy in the Arab world is a pending issue, despite the progress made in many of our countries. Unfortunately, per capita income is still low, and poverty still affects large parts of this region. The international situation is no longer as favorable as it was in the past.
