The Arabian Gulf Pearl School “APG”, as part of its tireless pursuit of excellence in the field of technology, obtained accreditation for the “STEAM” educational system as the first international school to obtain this accreditation in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“STEAM” is a system that includes the types of skills that a student needs in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and integrating those five educational subjects into the basic curriculum, mixing and interconnecting them. It is known in English as “STEAM,” which is the abbreviation of the first 5 letters of the five subjects (Science, Technology). Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the School Board of Directors, Hussein Al-Aali, said, “We always strive to provide the best means of education and knowledge for our children within a framework that is consistent with our customs and traditions in the first place,” explaining that through the cooperation and solidarity of the human staff, we have succeeded in achieving a lot of progress in many fields, and we have been keen for some time. To develop in the field of technology by obtaining international accreditations in the latest educational systems.”
We are also interested in paving the way for graduates of the Pearl of the Arabian Gulf and opening the horizons of a bright future for them. We also spare no effort to achieve this and provide the best and most efficient methods and scientific and educational capabilities. Al-Aali continued, “In our endeavor to achieve this, the STEAM curriculum will become part of the approved curricula within the academic levels, which contributes to preparing students’ minds to deal with contemporary sciences and arts.” As well as preparing and qualifying to join future jobs that require scientific expertise in various matters that are indispensable today in many fields and include all disciplines concerned with engineering, technology, science, arts, and mathematics.
For his part, the school’s Projects and Artificial Intelligence Officer, Saleh Al-Shehabi, said, “We succeeded in achieving the vision of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pearl of the Arabian Gulf School, Mr. Mohammed Al-Aali, for the school to be innovative in the field of technology to graduate generations capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the labor market.”
Shihabi pointed out that implementing the “STEEM” system is a system of integrating educational materials into one project and investing all the information that the student has learned over the academic years and benefiting from it in the productivity of a project or the completion of works and projects that are suitable and keep pace with the current period. The school’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Coordinator, John Lepore, pointed out that the work to win accreditation for the “STEEM” system took 3 years, during which we were keen to qualify the school’s academic staff and students to obtain accreditation from “Digital Media Academy,” which visited the school to confirm the application of all required standards, and therefore we succeeded in Get accreditation.
He stressed that the “STEAM” educational system is among many other scientific and educational methods and activities that will prepare students scientifically, mentally, and educationally to master scientific and educational skills and experiences in all directions and cognitive sciences.
