A person harassed a minor child who was walking on a public road, and he was convicted of his act, which led to harm and harm to him and his family, which prompted them to file a lawsuit to punish the victim.

Lawyer Abdel Azim Abbas Hubail said that his client’s minor son (the victim) was walking on the public road, and the accused lured him to the garage where he worked. He harassed him, so the victim quickly left the place. Meanwhile, his father was looking for his son (the victim). When he saw him, he was in a state of fear and anxiety, so the victim told his father what had happened to him.

In turn, the victim’s father filed a report against the accused with the security authorities, and by showing pictures of the accused to the victim (the child), his identity was identified, he was convicted of his act, and the victim was presented to the social and psychological committee to follow up on his condition.

The court ruled to oblige the accused to pay the victim and his family an amount of 4,000 dinars, as moral and psychological compensation for the harm inflicted on the victim. It ordered his imprisonment for one year, and obligated him to pay legal fees.

In this context, Lawyer Abdel Azim called for the necessity of establishing a law to deter sexual abuse of children by all means. It is a serious and destructive crime that causes psychological, physical, and emotional harm to the victims. He stressed that children who were subjected to sexual harassment suffered greatly from negative effects that continued with them for a long period of time, including psychological trauma, lack of self-confidence, sexual diseases, and problems in personal relationships. Combating it guarantees their safety and well-being, indicating that it is a responsibility that requires the cooperation of the entire community, including parents, teachers, government institutions, the police and the judiciary, to protect future generations.
