Manchester United announced, on Tuesday evening, the renewal of the contract of its star Marcus Rashford, to extend until the summer of 2028.

The Manchester United striker will earn £375,000 a week over the next five years as the club’s highest-paid player.

But United coach Eric Ten Hag believes that Rashford deserves this amount, after months of controversy over his previous contract due to its expiration, next summer.

After signing his new contract, Rashford said: “I joined Manchester United when I was a 7-year-old kid who had a dream.”

“And the same passion, pride and determination to succeed still drives me every time I have the honor of wearing the shirt.”

“I have already had some amazing experiences at this great club, but there is still so much to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years to come.”

“As a lifelong United fan, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this crest, and I feel its ups and downs like no one else.”

And he added, “I can assure you that I will do everything in my power to help the team reach the level that we are capable of reaching.”

“I can feel the same determination in the dressing room. I couldn’t be more excited about the future under this coach,” he concluded.
